Scott M. Wheatley was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1978. He received his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University in Comparative Literature in 1974 and his law degree from George Washington University in 1978. During law school he worked as a title examiner in the courthouses located in Northern Virginia. His practice has centered on real estate transactions and title matters since 1978. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia State Bar Real Estate Section, the Fairfax County Bar Association and the American Land Title Association. Mr. Wheatley’s areas of expertise include residential and commercial real estate transactions, real estate title matters, closely held businesses, land development and construction. He has been qualified as an expert witness in real estate law in the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia.

Mr. Wheatley is the sole owner of Executive Settlement Services, LLC. and Wheatley Law Firm, PLC. The law firm is actively engaged in the practice of real estate law in Virginia. The law firm often prepares legal documents such as deeds, deeds of trust and notes (when not prepared by the mortgage lenders), powers of attorney and other legal documents in connection with closings conducted by Executive Settlement Services.

As an attorney and owner of settlement agencies, Mr. Wheatley has personally closed thousands of real estate transactions for both residential and commercial properties. These transactions have included a wide variety of loan and transaction types, some of these are conventional and government insured loans, land acquisition, development and construction loans, first and second deed of trust loans, home acquisition loans, refinance loans, home equity loans and assumption of existing loans. Loan amounts have ranged from as low as $5,000 to as much as $68,000,000. All of the proper documentation for these loans, including title insurance, was obtained and provided to the mortgage lenders under the supervision of Mr. Wheatley.
